Solar & Battery Energy Storage Advisor

The Solar Advisor helps individuals who contact Luminalt to determine whether solar and storage is right for them. The Solar Advisor is their first contact and the launch point of a customer’s journey at Luminalt. The Solar Advisor is a critical member of the sales team. The position will report to the Luminalt offices in San Francisco’s Mission District. There’s a lot to learn. We believe learning and training is best done in the office where colleagues can share their knowledge and best practices. Later the position may allow for both working in the office and remotely.

San Francisco’s only majority women owned solar design-build firm (CSLB #845219). We design and build residential and commercial solar and battery energy storage systems in the Bay Area. There are three main aspects of the position, with other tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Lead Intake and Processing
Help individuals who contact Luminalt interested in solar and energy storage to determine whether Luminalt’s solar and storage solutions are right for them
- Administer lead intake from initial inquiry through sales consultation.
- Answer Luminalt’s “I’m interested in solar and storage” phone line, respond to inquiries from Luminalt’s quote request webpage and other channels.
- Build rapport by answering and asking relevant questions about solar and storage specific to their project using Luminalt’s criteria for successful projects to determine if we’ll provide them with a proposal for a system.
- Gather information from the individual necessary for the solar or storage assessment entering it in Salesforce, Aurora or other programs
- Administer the Sales Team’s calendars and scheduling tools so that those that qualify are able to conveniently schedule a consultation
- Organize the information for sales consultants using the tools and programs we have available to us to set them up for success
- Maintain and update the sales intake process to ensure it reflects current practices
2. Marketing and Market Analysis
- Maintain, organize and update marketing materials for sales (site packs)
- Maintain, organize and update photos of our colleagues working and our projects
- Review solar and battery energy storage system permit data and report out on what is being installed and by whom
3. Providing general administrative support
- Route company emails to the appropriate person, responding where appropriate
- Maintain, organize and update photos of our colleagues working and our projects
- Maintain, organize and update marketing materials for sales (site packs)
- Provide backup for office administrator when they’re out of office:
- Answer Luminalt’s main phone line, route calls to the appropriate person, gather information and answer questions where appropriate
- Draft contracts and change orders, Process signed agreements and request additional insured certificates and endorsements required by those contracts
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Working knowledge and/or skill in Gmail or other email programs, word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer applications. Experience with Salesforce or other CRM is desirable.
- Follow written & verbal instructions
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Two years of experience in clerical work or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Compensation and Benefits:
- $18 – $22 per hour, depending on experience
