Job brief: The Crew Manager will manage Luminalt’s installation team, provide technical and construction support, and manage our safety and training programs. The purpose of this position is to ensure Luminalt’s installation crew is set up for success and able to work safely and efficiently.

Primary functions of the position:

  • Reports to V.P of Operations
  • 50% in office 50% in field
  • Hire, inspire and manage Luminalt’s installation team
  • Manage safety program – lead safety meetings, coordinate safety audits, enforce CalOSHA, manufacturer and Luminalt policies
  • Work closely with Project Management, Warehouse and Procurement on project specifics and materials to ensure the team has the resources it needs to efficiently install
  • Meet assigned deadlines and operational goals, report out on team metrics an KPI’s
  • Work regularly with CTO to develop best practices to optimize our solar and battery installations including finding new methods, materials and tools to do our work
  • Ensure onsite accountability and leadership in set crew structure
  • Dispatch crews to scheduled jobs based on skillset, attend weekly scheduling meeting
  • Visit project sites as needed to inspect for safety and readiness
  • Responsible for managing efficient morning load out
  • Provide onsite support to crew when challenges arise
  • Receive planned projects from Project Managers for review and identify scheduling, safety, logistical or installation challenges and proactively prep crew to overcome them
  • Review and approve crew electronic time cards
  • Assign company crew vehicles and manage driver responsibilities
  • Work closely with Human Resources
  • Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Experience in the residential or commercial solar field – able to troubleshoot and solve a variety of onsite construction and technical problems
  • Read and interpret building plans, building codes, technical bulletins, code books, and other related documents
