You’re invited to a party Friday, October 14th, 2011 from 6:30 to 9 in the Luminalt warehouse! Join Luminalt and Green Empowerment for a casual gathering of renewable energy enthusiasts for an evening that will provide an up close look of how solar, micro-hydro, ram pumps, and other appropriate technology are being used to improve quality of life for some of the world’s most remote and impoverished communities.
Dexter Gauntlett is returning to the U.S. after spending 2011 in the Philippines with Green Empowerment focused on scaling up exciting renewable energy, water, and sustainable agriculture projects in some of the most remote villages in the country. He’ll be full of fresh stories from the Philippines, where he’s been helping Green Empowerment’s partner NGOs scale up their renewable energy and drinking water work.
Dexter will share stories from the fieldof how appropriate technologies are changing lives — and how you can get involved. Green Empowerment is an international non-governmental organization that works in Latin America and Southeast Asia to implement community based projects that provide rural villages access to electricity through renewable energy, clean water and sustainable solutions.
Luminalt’s partnering with Green Empowerment represents three generations working together to bring renewable energy to more people, whether a small residential solar installation in San Francisco to help one family reduce their carbon footprint, or a solar installation on the Thai-Burmese border to bring educational opportunities to internally displaced Karen children.
What: Learn about how Green Empowerment is using renewable energy to change the world! Mingle with others who are as passionate about solar as you are. Don’t forget to check out our organic garden in the back!
