A new year is a good time to reflect on accomplishments, challenges and to give thanks. To you our clients, a particularly special thank you for choosing Luminalt for your solar system. By choosing Luminalt, you support a local independently owned business and you enabled us to do great things in 2011.
Each year, Luminalt does a volunteer community solar installation. In 2011, we led over one hundred community volunteers in the installation of a solar system at Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center collaborating with local climate change nonprofit One Atmosphere, the band Cake, solar panel manufacturer SunPower and EcoMedia.
Our reputation for excellent design and installation landed one of our solar systems on the cover of international solar magazine Photon. The magazine also showcased several other of our solar systems, includingProject Open Hand and Tel Hi.
We believe in the transformative power of a good job with fair pay and benefits. Luminalt leads in hiring from local community based nonprofit organizations that provide solar and work readiness training. We look forward to expanding this work in other Bay Area communities in 2012.
Luminalt captured the attention of EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson when she came to San Francisco to promote environmental justice and Obama’s job plan. Administrator Jackson toured our solar installation at Project Open Hand and spoke with Luminalt installers hired through Asian Neighborhood Design.
Leasing and other creative solar financing programs became more prevalent in 2011. To provide our clients access to the best of these programs, Luminalt partnered with San Francisco based SunRun, the nation’s leading solar service company to offer Luminalt installed solar for as little as $0 down.
With new electric cars on the market, Luminalt installed numerous solar systems this past year for people who want to drive their new electric car with clean solar energy.
We did a number of other exciting solar projects: Crissy Field Center,B&W Service Center, and hundreds of residential solar systems. So many homeowners, business owners and nonprofits have chosen to work with us that Luminalt has installed more solar systems in San Francisco than any other company. Much of this work comes to us because of recommendations by clients, architects and contractors. We are honored and grateful for the trust you have put in us.
