Luminalt at EV Plug-In Week

Last week, Plug-in EV Week, saw numerous educational events across San Francisco, the Bay Area, and the country. EV Week opened with an event at Justin Herman plaza hosted by Charge Across Town, where Mayor Ed Lee reaffirmed his commitment to making San Francisco the “EV capital of the world.” Luminalt was joined by plug-in electric and hybrid vehicles from car manufacturers including BMW, Toyota, and Fisker. Solar electric has natural synergies with electric plug-in vehicles; solar systems produce electricity during the day, when demand is at its peak; most EV drivers charge their cars overnight when electricity rates are low. By leveraging this, EV owners who install solar can save big while lessening their carbon footprint. TheGolden Gate Electric Vehicle Association’s Jason Jungreis installed with Luminalt last year and has been seeing the benefits.
