Luminalt was recognized this past Friday as one of the 100 largest woman-owned businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area, a region that includes the counties of San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo, Alameda, and Contra Costa, plus the city of Palo Alto.

Luminalt’s CEO Jeanine Cotter accepted the award from the San Francisco Business Times in a private awards ceremony held at the St. Regis in Downtown San Francisco. Jeanine has long been recognized as an advocate for woman- and minority-owned businesses, having been quoted in a 2010 article published by the San Francisco Business Timesas saying that while “there’s no tangible benefit” to being a woman-owned business, she thinks “becoming a certified women-owned business would be a good example for other women.”

Earlier this year, Jeanine was profiled by CNN Money and Moneymagazine in a piece that charts Luminalt’s history and growth to becoming the top solar installer in San Francisco.
