The California Public Utilities Commission has just approved PG&E’s plan to raise their electricity rates by 2%. Over the past 10 years, PG&E’s electricity rates have doubled for the highest tiers. As a result, any PG&E customer with a monthly electrical bill greater than $150 will see their bill increase once again.
Luminalt has pulled together a chart illustrating how PG&E’s electricity rates have increased over the past 10 years (2001-2011). We’ve done it only over the past 10 years because the tiered rate system was only introduced in 2001 (so everything before that looks a bit different). Now, more than ever, installing a solar electric system on your home or business makes sense.
