Over the next two Thursdays, two great organizations providing clean energy to impoverished communities worldwide will be hosting fundraisers here in San Francisco.
Green Empowerment, a Portland-based non-profit, works with local partners around the world to strengthen communities by delivering renewable energy and safe water.
As one of Luminalt’s favorite non-profits, many of us have volunteered on service trips to Nicaragua and helped with engineering and project development. Please join us at Pisco Latin Lounge at 1817 Market Street, San Francisco, on Thursday, February 20th from 5:30pm to 8pm. You’ll meet other Green Empowerment supporters and staff while enjoying some tasty appetizers and delicious drinks. You’ll also hear what Green Empowerment has been up to!
Please RSVP here as space is limited.
For any questions please contact Programs Director Emily Green at emily@greenempowerment.org.
The following week, on Thursday, February 27th, Luminalt is sponsoring a fundraiser for One Million Lights. Dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults in East Africa and the Philippines, One Million Lights designs solutions to replace dangerous and polluting kerosene lights with clean, renewable options.
From 7 to 9pm at Nissan Infiniti in San Francisco, One Million Lights will be discussing an ambitious new micro-grid project they’re undertaking in Lake Eyasi, Tanzania. The micro-grid will support a vocational center for young mothers that serves 145 women by providing them local work opportunities and free childcare and healthcare. To RSVP for an evening featuring include hor d’oeuvres, drinks, music, and a speaker from the center, please email jen.greene@onemillionlights.org.
To learn more about the center, please visit One Million Lights.
