Solar & Storage Sales Consultant

Job Summary
Our Sales Consultants are the face of Luminalt to new clientele. Through our technical sales process, you will assess project sites, electricity consumption levels, and design solar and battery system recommendations while building rapport and becoming a trusted advisor. Through both remote and on-site consultations, you will educate clients on their options and the corresponding financial benefits, and guide them from the lead stage to a signed installation contract.

Key Responsibilities

The following outlines the main responsibilities of the position, with other tasks and responsibilities as needed.

  • Manage the sales cycle for both self generated and Luminalt-provided leads
  • Help qualified leads determine whether Luminalt’s solar and storage solutions are right for them.
  • Achieve sales objectives designed to be aggressive but achievable. We want to set you up for success: reasonable numbers that ramp over time while you’re learning internal processes.
  • Use a number of programs, such as Aurora and Energy Toolbase, to create and effectively present roof designs, production estimates, and financial analyses to potential clients
  • Follow Luminalt process for data entry in Salesforce
  • Proficiency in using client interval usage data via Utility API or otherwise
  • Build rapport by answering and asking relevant questions about solar and storage specific to their project using Luminalt’s criteria for successful projects to craft a proposal for a system
  • Attend client sales consultations, either in person or remotely depending on client preference, and provide timely follow up with proposal and respond to client questions
  • Engage in Training and Professional Development to keep up on the ever changing policy and technology landscape
  • Proficiency to effectively use Google Suite
  • Write thoughtfully, crisply, & persuasively
  • Consistently operate with integrity to do the right thing for our clients, colleagues and Luminalt.
  • Professional, courteous, and compassionate communication style (remote, in person, and over the phone)
  • Responsive to clients and colleagues
  • Excited about working collaboratively with colleagues and clients in solar

Qualifications

  • Current or recent verifiable work history in the residential/commercial solar industry, preferably in the Bay Area, California for at least two years, in which you projected and met/exceeded annual sales targets.
  • Valid California Driver License with acceptable driving record
  • Own or have daily access to a dependable vehicle with which you will use to meet clients at their location(s) when needed. Regular travel expected throughout the Bay Area
  • Ability to understand and explain solar and storage value proposition, including cash purchases, financing options, and third party ownership
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree, with experience in solar.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base + Commission. Top performers earn $100,000–$200,000+ annually.
  • Benefits: Health, Paid Time Off, and employer-paid 3% retirement account contribution after Year 1
