How to download Green Button Data from PG&E

First, you’ll need to sign in to your online PG&E account. Once you sign in, you’ll be directed to your account’s homepage.

Download a PDF copy of your most recent energy bill by clicking “View Current Bill (PDF).”

Next, click “Energy Usage Details.”

In the center of the page, you’ll see a graph depicting temperature and your account’s energy usage, usually over the span of 12 months. Scroll down the page, and click “Green Button.”

Once you click “Green Button,” the options in the above image should appear on your screen. Under “Time Period,” select “Export usage for a range of days.” Fill in “From” and “To” with last year’s date and today’s date, respectively (as depicted above). Export the file in CSV format as well as XML format.

Once you have a PDF copy of your most recent bill, and CSV and XML copies of your Green Button data, please email these files to your Solar Advisor.
