For Luminalt-installed systems, we are still your primary point of contact for any system-related issues. While some questions remain unresolved as the SunPower bankruptcy proceedings are ongoing, we hope you find the following resources helpful.
If you have inquiries about your system’s components, please refer to the warranty card provided at the end of your installation. This card is typically emailed to you by Luminalt along with your Permission to Operate confirmation. If you are unable to locate the information or have other questions regarding the bankruptcy, please submit an inquiry.
Panels, Microinverters and String Inverters
Depending on your system, certain power generation components (modules and/or inverters/microinverters) may be covered by manufacturer warranties.
Maxeon Solar Panels: Maxeon offers a 25-year product warranty on its solar panels. To qualify for this coverage, you must register your panels by December 31, 2024. Please note that this warranty applies specifically to the glass modules and not to any attached microinverters or other components. All the information you need for registration is available on the warranty card Luminalt provided via email when your system received Permission to Operate from PG&E.
Enphase Energy Microinverters: If your system includes Enphase microinverters, you’re covered by a 25-year product warranty. There’s no need to register the serial numbers. For more details, please click HERE.
Solarbridge Microinverters: Unfortunately, Solarbridge microinverters do not come with a product warranty. If they fail, individual replacements are not available. We recommend monitoring your system’s performance through your monitoring app and your PG&E bill to determine if an upgrade may be beneficial in the future. Enphase Energy offers a paid 3rd Party Upgrade Program that provides new microinverters and monitoring for your system. If you’re interested, please let us know, and we can obtain a quote for you from Enphase.
SMA String Inverters – SMA will honor its 10 year product warranty.
Fronius String Inverters – Fronius will honor its 10 year warranty.
SolarEdge String Inverters – SolarEdge will honor its 10 year warranty.
SunPower Monitoring Systems and My Sunpower App
All SunPower monitoring systems are no longer covered by warranty. While this component does not affect the overall functionality of your system, it can help identify any issues that may arise. We can assist with remote troubleshooting; however, please note that if the unit fails, we will not be able to replace it under warranty.
Enphase Energy offers a paid third-party monitoring upgrade program that can track your system’s performance, even if it doesn’t contain Enphase components. Currently, Enphase is working directly with homeowners to implement this service. For more details, please click here. If you choose to pursue this option, please inform us so we can stay updated on your system and provide any necessary information to Enphase for a smooth experience.
The My SunPower remote monitoring app is still active, and we encourage you to continue checking your system’s performance. If you encounter any issues, please let us know. We are currently unsure if or when the app will be disabled, but we will keep you informed as we receive updates.
Thank you for your ongoing trust in Luminalt. We look forward to providing you with exceptional service for your solar and battery systems for many years to come!
